Ana Catarina Silva

Catarina is originally from Portugal and she did her BSc at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Later she worked on conifer biology at the Forest Genomics and Molecular Genetics Lab. And, after this, Catarina moved to the Wageningen University & Research (WUR), in the Netherlands, to do her MSc in Plant Sciences. There, she first worked in the Laboratory of Nematology, and then in the Plant Breeding Laboratory, where she discovered her passion for apomixis. Catarina is now working on establishing dandelion as a model species for apomixis research in our group.
